Antique Toy Collectors Gather at DFW Car and Toy Museum for Annual Convention

The DFW Car and Toy Museum will host the Antique Toy Collectors of America (ATCA) for its annual convention on May 5, 2025, offering collectors a unique opportunity to explore an extensive collection of vintage toys and automobiles.

The museum, located in North Fort Worth, boasts an impressive collection of more than 3,000 toys dating to the late 19th century, including rare specimens from German manufacturers like Marklin and Tippco, as well as significant American and Japanese toy collections. Founded by Ron Sturgeon in the 1980s, the museum has grown to become a significant repository of automotive and toy history.

The ATCA, a nonprofit organization established in 1965, now attracts members globally who share a passion for collecting and preserving antique toys. During the convention, club members will have unrestricted access to browse the museum's extensive exhibits and are encouraged to photograph the collections.

The museum's collection extends beyond toys, featuring over 200 automobiles, including a notable assembly of 35 Volkswagens. The new 150,000-square-foot facility offers free admission and parking, making it an accessible destination for automotive and toy enthusiasts.

This event highlights the continued cultural significance of toy collecting and preservation, providing a platform for enthusiasts to connect, share knowledge, and celebrate the historical and artistic value of vintage toys.
