Schools Near Birmingham Invited to Host STEM Author Loxley Browne for Inspirational Visit

Seven schools within three hours of Birmingham, Alabama, have the opportunity to host acclaimed author Loxley Browne for an immersive STEM education experience. The program aims to inspire students, particularly those from Title I or lower-income schools, by introducing them to innovative approaches in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

The comprehensive program offers schools a $2,000 value, including a full-day visit from Browne, 20 books from her Charms Book Series, and an interactive presentation designed to spark student curiosity about STEM careers. Schools must have a minimum of 50 students in attendance and demonstrate enthusiasm through their application.

Schools interested in the program must submit nominations by April 25, 2025, with winners to be announced on May 1, 2025. All selected visits will be completed by June 1, 2025, providing an inspiring conclusion to the academic year.

The initiative represents a significant opportunity for students to engage directly with an author who bridges storytelling and scientific education. By targeting schools with diverse student populations, the program seeks to broaden access to STEM inspiration and potential career pathways.
