Peru Showcases Cultural Heritage and Innovation at Osaka Kansai Expo

Peru has made a striking debut at the Osaka Kansai Expo, captivating international media with a multifaceted presentation of its national identity and potential. During the media event, approximately 75 journalists from Japan and abroad experienced a comprehensive exploration of Peru's cultural landscape under the theme 'Endless Possibilities.'

The pavilion's launch featured a traditional Andean dance performance of 'Valicha,' setting a vibrant tone for the event. Attendees were introduced to Peru's culinary excellence through tastings of signature dishes that showcase the country's geographic and gastronomic diversity. A highlight was the national cocktail, Pisco Sour, alongside dishes like causa limeña and demonstrations of Peru's renowned superfoods and chocolate.

Beyond culinary experiences, the event emphasized Peru's artisanal traditions, with media representatives receiving souvenirs crafted from alpaca textiles—symbolic of the nation's rich handicraft heritage. The pavilion aims to foster international understanding and create opportunities for cultural and economic exchange with Japan.

The official inauguration, set for April 13 and to be led by Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism Desilú León Chempén, marks a significant moment in Peru's international cultural diplomacy.
