Opawica Explorations Discovers Promising Gold Mineralization in Abitibi Gold Belt

Opawica Explorations has reported promising results from its 2025 exploration campaign at the Bazooka Property in the Abitibi Gold Belt, revealing a substantial 76-meter mineralized zone with visible gold. The discovery occurs within a region renowned for its gold-rich geological structures.

The drill hole OP-25-33 intercepted the mineralized zone at a depth of 285 to 361 meters, featuring visible gold at 348.5 meters. The interval includes consistent occurrences of arsenopyrite, fuchsite, and quartz veining, indicating potential gold mineralization.

The property is strategically located along the Cadillac-Larder Lake fault, a prolific auriferous structure marking the boundary between the Archean Abitibi and Pontiac subprovinces. This geological setting has historically been significant for mineral exploration.

After completing ten diamond drill holes totaling 2,000 meters, the company has submitted 610 core samples for assay analysis. The drilling campaign successfully intersected the Cadillac-Larder Fault multiple times, providing insights into local mineralization patterns.

Blake Morgan, CEO of Opawica, expressed optimism about the early-stage discovery, highlighting the potential of the exploration program. The company anticipates releasing further updates and final assay results in the coming weeks.

The mineralization is hosted within the Main Zone, characterized by altered quartz-carbonate-sericite and talc-chlorite schists, with an estimated true width of up to 60 meters. The geological interpretation suggests prospective east-west trending panels with a steep northward dip.

This discovery represents a significant milestone for Opawica Explorations, potentially indicating the presence of substantial gold resources in the Bazooka Property and reinforcing the area's reputation as a promising mining region.
