Mullen Automotive Inc. (NASDAQ: MULN), an emerging player in the electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing sector, has announced a strategic rebranding to Bollinger Innovations, with plans to change its NASDAQ ticker symbol by August 15, 2025. This move is part of a broader strategy to consolidate operations under the Bollinger brand, aiming to streamline processes and reduce costs. The company has already made significant strides in this direction, having eliminated 155 positions and reduced annual operating expenses by at least $35 million since January.

The consolidation includes relocating commercial vehicle functions to Oak Park, Michigan, and unifying sales, marketing, and service divisions. These changes are expected to improve fiscal efficiency while allowing the company to focus on advancing its lineup of commercial EVs. Among the vehicles in development are the Mullen ONE and THREE, along with the Bollinger B4, which features a 7,325-lb payload capacity and a 185-mile range. Company executives are optimistic about securing significant sales orders in the current fiscal quarter.

Mullen Automotive, now Bollinger Innovations, has been making notable progress in the EV space. The company began commercial vehicle production in Tunica, Mississippi, in August 2023 and received IRS approval for federal EV tax credits shortly thereafter. This designation allows eligible customers to receive up to $7,500 per vehicle. Additionally, the Mullen ONE and THREE have achieved certification from the California Air Resource Board (CARB) and the EPA, making them available for sale across the U.S. The CARB's HVIP approval for the Mullen THREE also provides customers with up to a $45,000 cash voucher at the time of purchase.

The company has expanded its commercial dealer network to seven dealers, including Papé Kenworth, enhancing its sales and service coverage in key markets. Furthermore, the Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) status approval for its Tunica manufacturing center offers benefits such as duty deferment and elimination on exported vehicles, positioning the company for more competitive international operations.

This rebranding and operational consolidation underscore Bollinger Innovations' commitment to becoming a leader in the commercial EV market. By focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and product development, the company aims to meet the growing demand for sustainable transportation solutions.
