The latest research from the HR Research Institute, titled 'HR.com's State of Seasonal, Hourly and Volume Hiring 2025', sheds light on the strategies that enable organizations to scale their hiring processes effectively without compromising on quality. The study highlights that successful high-volume hiring is underpinned by a well-defined strategy, the effective use of technology, and the continuous tracking of key metrics.

According to the findings, organizations excelling in high-volume hiring are four times more likely to find AI tools effective and three times more likely to link hiring metrics to on-the-job performance. The research underscores the importance of measuring quality of hire, conversion rate, time to hire or fill, and retention rate, with these metrics being cited by 61%, 47%, 46%, and 44% of respondents, respectively.

The study also identifies the most effective tools for modern high-volume recruiting, including applicant tracking systems (ATS) and artificial intelligence technologies like chatbots and SMS automation, each favored by 51% of respondents. Virtual job previews or simulations and employee referral tracking tools were also highlighted as valuable, with 45% and 44% of respondents citing their effectiveness.

Despite the advancements in hiring technologies, many HR teams continue to face challenges such as high turnover, poor candidate-job fit, and the manual processing of large volumes of applications. The research suggests that overcoming these obstacles requires not only better tools but also a more strategic approach to hiring.

Debbie McGrath, Chief Instigator and CEO of HR.com, emphasized the significance of the right data and tools in achieving high-volume hiring success. The study's insights are particularly relevant for HR professionals in industries reliant on large hourly or contract workforces, offering a roadmap to transforming high-volume hiring into a competitive advantage.
