Sonepar and Klein Tools Contribute $8,004 to Support Veterans Through Bob Woodruff Foundation

Sonepar and Klein Tools have announced a donation of $8,004 to the Bob Woodruff Foundation, a significant contribution aimed at supporting veterans and their families. This donation is the result of a collaborative initiative where a portion of proceeds from the sale of custom Klein Tools pliers, engraved with the American flag, was directed to the foundation. These limited-edition lineman's pliers were available exclusively through Sonepar company branches and websites, marking the successful culmination of the program's first year.

Anne Marie Dougherty, CEO of the Bob Woodruff Foundation, expressed gratitude towards Sonepar and Klein Tools for their unwavering support of the nation's heroes. The partnership has enabled the foundation to fund essential services for veterans, including housing assistance, mental health care, and job training across the United States. The initiative, which launched on Veterans Day in 2024, is set to continue as an annual partnership, further demonstrating the companies' commitment to the military community.

Bill Mortimer, Director of Strategic Vendor Engagement for Sonepar, highlighted the pride in supporting the Bob Woodruff Foundation and the sacrifices made by military families. The partnership between Sonepar, Klein Tools, and the Bob Woodruff Foundation is expected to grow, reflecting Sonepar's broader commitment to the military community. This includes over 25 partnerships with military-focused organizations and participation in more than 300 veteran-focused recruiting events in the past two years, significantly increasing military hires within the company.

Internally, Sonepar's Military and Veterans Employee Resource Group (MERGE) plays a crucial role in supporting veterans, reservists, and military spouses, fostering a sense of belonging and connection among its members. In 2024, MERGE further contributed to the cause by donating $10,000 to the Bob Woodruff Foundation, underscoring the company's dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of veterans and their families.
