Shincheonji Taekwondo Team Dominates International Competitions with Unprecedented Success

The Shincheonji Church of Jesus Taekwondo Team has once again demonstrated their exceptional prowess on the international stage, with every member winning prizes at the '2025 Park Chung-hee Cup International Open Taekwondo Competition'. This remarkable achievement underscores the team's dedication and skill, further cementing their reputation as a formidable force in Taekwondo.

Hosted by the Park Chung-hee Cup Organizing Committee and co-hosted by the Gyeongbuk Taekwondo Association and the Sangju City Taekwondo Association, the competition saw approximately 4,200 athletes from 18 countries, including Korea, the United States, and France, competing in various events such as comprehensive competition, breaking, poomsae, kicking, and actual sparring. The Shincheonji Taekwondo team's participation in the official poomsae individual competition resulted in an impressive haul of 4 gold medals, 7 silver medals, and 14 bronze medals, with all 25 athletes securing awards.

Lee Jun-wi, a gold medalist, attributed their success to focused training and persistent effort, despite the short preparation period. Coach Kim Deok-hoon expressed pride in the team's performance, highlighting the high level of competition and the team's unwavering demonstration of skill. The team's success at this competition not only showcases their individual and collective talents but also contributes to enhancing the cultural and diplomatic status of the Republic of Korea, the birthplace of Taekwondo.
