The Mainly Mozart All-Star Orchestra Festival will return to San Diego from June 18 to 28, 2025, featuring a groundbreaking performance of Mozart's recently discovered Serenade in C Major and an impressive lineup of classical music's most accomplished musicians.
Conducted by Maestro Michael Francis, the festival will showcase musicians from top orchestras nationwide, including the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and Chicago Symphony. This year's program offers a unique opportunity to hear a rare, early Mozart composition written when the composer was between 10 and 13 years old, alongside works by Beethoven, Strauss, Bach, and other classical masters.
The festival's six concerts will take place at two venues: The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center and UC San Diego's Epstein Family Amphitheater. Audiences can expect performances featuring renowned soloists such as pianist Joyce Yang, violinist Noah Bendix-Balgley, and clarinetist Boris Allakhverdyan.
A highlight of the festival is the opening night performance, which will feature the newly discovered Serenade in C Major, found in a German library in September 2024. This piece will be performed alongside Vivaldi's The Four Seasons and Piazzolla's The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, promising a diverse and compelling musical experience.
