The Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association (CRVA) is commemorating five decades of industry leadership by launching an innovative fundraising initiative that combines celebration with charitable giving. In partnership with General Coach Canada, the association has donated a 2025 Citation Reward Travel Trailer to support Care Camps, a nonprofit organization helping children with cancer experience the healing power of outdoor experiences.
The donated RV will be raffled off, with 100% of proceeds directly benefiting Care Camps. The trailer will be unveiled at the Toronto Spring Camping and RV Show from February 27 to March 2, 2025, and will subsequently embark on a cross-country journey to various festivals and events.
Founded in 1975, CRVA has been instrumental in establishing industry standards, advocating for fair regulations, and promoting the RV lifestyle across Canada. The association's 50th-anniversary celebrations will include a special commemorative logo, historical retrospectives, and advocacy campaigns highlighting its contributions to the Canadian RV industry.
CRVA President Shane Devenish emphasized the significance of this milestone, noting that the anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate past achievements and honor the individuals and organizations that have supported the association's growth. The RV raffle represents more than a fundraising effort; it demonstrates the industry's commitment to community support and social responsibility.
Care Camps Executive Director Gwynn Sullivan expressed gratitude for the initiative, highlighting how the fundraiser will enable more children with cancer to experience joy, connection, and adventure through specialized outdoor camps.
