The Association of Pickleball Players (APP) is transforming April's National Pickleball Month into a nationwide charitable initiative by launching the APP National Pickleball Challenge to support the American Cancer Society. Participants are encouraged to play pickleball ten times during the month, tracking their active minutes while raising funds for cancer research and patient support.
Players can register through JustGiving and track their activities via the Stridekick mobile application. The challenge welcomes all types of pickleball-related activities, from competitive matches to casual play and training exercises. Challengers who raise at least $25 will receive a complimentary 'Strength & Hope' t-shirt, with the top ten fundraisers earning an additional OWL Sport paddle.
Shannon Dan, APP's Executive Vice President of Strategy and Growth, emphasized the dual benefits of the challenge, noting that participants can enjoy their favorite sport while reducing personal cancer risk and supporting those affected by the disease. One hundred percent of proceeds will directly benefit the American Cancer Society's mission of funding cancer research, providing patient support in 20,000 communities, and advocating for enhanced cancer care access.
