The program, launched by World Voices Media in partnership with HCN Global, addresses the potential risk faced by approximately 5.4 million U.S.-born children whose undocumented parents could be separated.
The initiative provides comprehensive support for immigrant families, offering bilingual resources that explain how to legally appoint a temporary emergency guardian. By empowering parents with knowledge and practical tools, the program seeks to prevent children from entering the foster care system during periods of parental absence.
Patricia Frausto-Rodriguez, Executive Director of World Voices Media, highlighted the urgent need for such a program, noting the significant challenges faced by Latino immigrant communities. The campaign includes multimedia resources such as radio and television spots, social media advertisements, YouTube tutorials, and a state-by-state database of guardianship forms.
The initiative comes in the context of ongoing family separation challenges, with references to children who remain unaccounted for from previous administrative policies. By providing accessible, multilingual information, the program aims to give immigrant parents proactive strategies to protect their children's legal and emotional well-being.
