A groundbreaking partnership between Charleston Animal Society, Joye Law Firm, and Adams Outdoor aims to reduce pet overpopulation by offering 150 free spay and neuter surgeries to Lowcountry residents. The Charleston Paw Project will select winners in three separate waves throughout 2025, with each recipient receiving a surgery and a one-year rabies vaccine at Charleston Animal Society's clinic.
The initiative responds to a clear community need, with over 300 people applying for free surgeries within the first five days of the campaign. Spaying and neutering are critical in preventing unwanted animal births and reducing the potential for euthanasia of homeless pets. Charleston Animal Society Vice President Aldwin Roman emphasized that these surgeries can save thousands of animal lives by preventing future unplanned litters.
Joye Law Firm is funding the certificates, while Adams Outdoor has contributed advertising and graphic design support. The project aligns with Charleston Animal Society's 150-year mission of animal welfare and supports their goal of ending unnecessary euthanasia.
Interested pet owners can enter the drawing by completing an online form at CharlestonPawProject.com. Winners will be selected on May 20, August 26, and October 21, offering a significant opportunity for responsible pet owners to access essential veterinary care.
