Mental Health Advocacy Group Launches Exhibit Highlighting Psychiatric Human Rights Concerns

The Citizens Commission on Human Rights of Florida (CCHR) is partnering with Boomtown Community Partners to present a comprehensive exhibit documenting alleged human rights violations in psychiatric treatment. The free exhibit, titled "Psychiatry: An Industry of Death Exhibit," will be held in Kissimmee, Florida from March 20-23rd, offering visitors an in-depth exploration of psychiatric practices and potential systemic abuses.

The exhibit features educational panels, photographs, and a documentary featuring interviews with over 160 health professionals, legal experts, and victims. Visitors will be exposed to historical perspectives on psychiatric treatments, focusing on issues such as forced commitment, electroshock therapy on vulnerable populations, and what the organizations describe as psychiatric industry's profit-driven motives.

Isaac Vasquez, known as Coach Boom and co-founder of Boomtown Community Partners, will deliver a special presentation on March 23rd, marking the formal announcement of their partnership with CCHR. Diane Stein, CCHR Florida's president, emphasized the collaboration's focus on protecting children from potential mental health treatment abuses.

The exhibit represents a significant effort to raise public awareness about mental health treatment practices, challenging current psychiatric methodologies and highlighting potential human rights concerns. By presenting documented evidence and firsthand accounts, the organizations aim to stimulate public discourse about mental health treatment standards and patient protections.
