The newly relocated DFW Car and Toy Museum welcomed more than 600 guests on its first day of operation, signaling strong public interest in its extensive automotive and toy collection. Founder Ron Sturgeon moved the museum from its longtime Haltom City location to a spacious 150,000-square-foot facility in Fort Worth, expanding its capacity to showcase its diverse collection.

The new museum, situated at 2550 McMillan Parkway, features over 200 cars and more than 3,000 toys, with a particular emphasis on Volkswagen vehicles. Sturgeon, who began collecting toys in the 1980s and has been in the automotive industry for 50 years, extensively renovated the new space, modernizing it from its previous state.

The museum's strategic location near Interstate 35 and its large signage is expected to increase visibility and attract more visitors. With free admission and parking, the facility offers an accessible entertainment option for automotive and toy enthusiasts.

The museum will host its official opening on April 1, with a grand opening event planned for April 12, featuring a cars and coffee gathering. Additionally, the Antique Toy Collectors of America will visit on May 5 for their annual convention, further highlighting the museum's significance in the collector community.

Open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, the museum offers a unique experience for visitors, encouraging photography and welcoming dogs. The facility also provides climate-controlled car storage and event spaces for car clubs and meetings.
