Wytec Launches AI-Powered Gunshot Detection Pilot for Texas School Districts

Wytec International is preparing to launch its first pilot program for an innovative integrated solution combining cellular technology, private LTE networks, and artificial intelligence-powered gunshot detection for Texas school districts. The pilot will utilize the Federal Communications Commission's Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) to create secure, interference-free wireless connections designed to detect multiple types of gunshot threats.

The initiative stems from a multi-state government award through the TXShare Cooperative Purchasing Program, which enables Wytec to implement its technology across 170 U.S. cities, 50 counties, and over 40 special districts including schools, hospitals, and public safety agencies.

Leveraging partnerships with Nextivity Inc. and Lemko Corporation, Wytec has developed an advanced ecosystem of smart sensors supported by more than 75 global patents. The technology integrates artificial intelligence and machine learning to provide sophisticated threat detection capabilities.

By focusing initially on Texas Independent School Districts, Wytec aims to address the growing concern of gun violence in educational environments. The pilot program represents a significant step toward comprehensive safety solutions that utilize cutting-edge technological innovations.
