Ballast Rock, a diversified investment management firm, has named Max Jackson as Managing Director and Private Credit Portfolio Manager, a newly created role aimed at expanding the company's private credit investment strategies.
Jackson brings extensive financial services experience to the position, having previously served as a Vice President at KeyBanc in their Utilities, Power & Renewable Energy Capital Markets team. Throughout his career, he has advised on more than $1 billion in transactions and over 500 assets.
The appointment reflects the growing importance of private credit in the financial landscape. Simon O'Shea, Ballast Rock's Chief Investment Officer, highlighted the segment's rapid growth and the firm's strategic intent to explore emerging opportunities for investors.
Prior to his investment banking career, Jackson worked at MVP Capital and Fifth Third Securities and spent four years as a senior auditor at Deloitte, providing financial assurance services to companies across multiple industries including retail, green technology, and financial services.
Jackson's background in real estate, investment banking, and financial auditing positions him uniquely to identify and evaluate private credit opportunities across diverse sectors. His expertise aligns with Ballast Rock's strategic vision of delivering risk-adjusted returns and innovative investment solutions.
With a bachelor's degree in Business-Economics from UCLA, supplemented by minors in Environmental Systems in Society and Accounting, Jackson brings a multidisciplinary approach to his new role at Ballast Rock.
