The Mainly Mozart All-Star Orchestra Festival will return to San Diego this summer, featuring an unprecedented gathering of virtuoso musicians from premier orchestras nationwide. Led by Maestro Michael Francis, the festival will present six concerts from June 18-28 at the Epstein Family Amphitheater and The Conrad in La Jolla.
This year's orchestra comprises concertmasters and principal players from 28 distinguished orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, and Philadelphia Orchestra. The roster represents a remarkable concentration of musical talent rarely assembled in a single ensemble.
The performances will showcase a diverse repertoire spanning classical masterworks, featuring compositions by Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Stravinsky, and contemporary pieces. Highlights include Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons," Beethoven's Symphony No. 7, and a Klezmer Concerto featuring composer Noah Bendix-Balgley.
The festival represents a unique opportunity for audiences to experience world-class musicians performing together in an intimate setting, presenting a caliber of performance typically reserved for major metropolitan concert halls. By bringing together top-tier musicians from across the country, the Mainly Mozart All-Star Orchestra Festival demonstrates the remarkable depth of classical musical talent in the United States.
