HIVE Digital Technologies has achieved a significant milestone in its 2025 growth strategy by completing the first 100 megawatt infrastructure phase at its Yguazù facility in Paraguay. The company's new data center, supported by a 200 MW substation, represents a strategic expansion in Bitcoin mining capabilities without incurring debt.
The completed infrastructure enables HIVE to support 5 EH/s of next-generation ASIC miners, with the company already operating 200 petahashes at the site using proprietary BUZZ Miners. By the end of May, HIVE expects to have over 20,000 new-generation ASIC units online, including Bitmain S21+ units.
HIVE's leadership emphasizes a disciplined approach to growth. President and CEO Aydin Kilic highlighted that the expansion from 6.5 EH/s to 11.5 EH/s has been funded through strategic treasury management, without relying on debt. The company aims to reach 25 EH/s by Fall 2025, projecting over 12 Bitcoins daily production at current difficulty levels.
The expansion comes amid growing institutional interest in cryptocurrency and potential market optimism. Wall Street analysts have issued a strong buy rating for HIVE, with a consensus price target implying triple-digit growth potential.
To support its ambitious expansion, HIVE has also strengthened its team by hiring Carlos Anibal Torres as Paraguay operations and project manager. Torres brings over 15 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure and energy systems, with degrees in electronic and civil engineering.
With its debt-free growth strategy, technological investments, and strategic geographic positioning, HIVE is positioning itself as a significant player in the evolving Bitcoin mining landscape.
