Diplomatic Trade Ltd (DTL) has unveiled an ambitious $100 million multi-phase AI investment roadmap designed to transform the UAE's technological landscape. The initiative, launching in the third quarter of 2025, aims to establish the UAE as the Middle East and North Africa region's premier sovereign artificial intelligence hub.
The investment platform will focus on developing critical digital infrastructure, including secure data centers optimized for high-performance computing, Arabic-trained large language models, and advanced applications across sectors such as government, healthcare, financial technology, logistics, and security.
Backed by a consortium of U.S., European, and Gulf Cooperation Council financial institutions, the project aligns with the UAE's strategic vision for technological advancement. The initiative builds upon the country's deepening technological partnership with the United States, which includes direct access to advanced Nvidia chipsets and plans for developing the world's largest AI data campus outside North America.
Benjamin Ballout, Chairman of Diplomatic Trade Ltd, emphasized the strategic importance of the project, stating that the investment goes beyond traditional technology ventures. The platform represents a comprehensive approach to building national digital infrastructure that supports regional technological sovereignty.
The program will actively engage UAE government ministries, sovereign wealth funds, and digital economy councils to ensure alignment with Vision 2031 and national data governance strategies. A Sovereign AI Summit planned for late 2025 in Abu Dhabi will further showcase the initiative's groundbreaking approach to technological development in Arabic-speaking nations.
By creating specialized infrastructure and investing in locally trained AI models, the project seeks to address unique regional technological needs while positioning the UAE as a global leader in artificial intelligence innovation.
