MOSTe, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting girls from under-resourced Los Angeles communities, is expanding its impact through redesigned academic and leadership programs. With a 38% increase in scholar enrollment this academic year, the organization serves students across 19 communities, with 62.2% of participants living below the poverty line.
The organization's upcoming fundraising luncheon, "Empowering Girls and Elevating Futures," will showcase its 39-year history of mentorship and academic support. Executive Director Nicole Fisher emphasized the organization's mission, stating that their scholars have become professionals across diverse fields, including law, medicine, engineering, and entrepreneurship.
MOSTe's new initiatives include the Leadership Academy, College Readiness program, and Mentorship & Career Pathways. These programs provide comprehensive support, including volunteer opportunities, career readiness workshops, financial literacy training, and college planning assistance.
The luncheon represents more than a fundraising event; it symbolizes a critical investment in developing educational and professional opportunities for young women from economically challenged backgrounds. By providing targeted mentorship and support, MOSTe aims to break cycles of economic disadvantage and create pathways to higher education and professional success.
