Texas design-build firm Kingham Dalton Wilson (KDW) is celebrating 130 years of continuous, multigenerational family business, marking a significant milestone in the state's construction industry. Founded in 1895 in Nacogdoches, the company has evolved from a local construction business to a comprehensive design-build firm serving commercial and industrial clients across Texas.
The company's journey began with the Kingham family establishing its first construction enterprise, which played a crucial role in developing East Texas infrastructure by constructing schools, hospitals, churches, and buildings for Stephen F. Austin State University. In 2004, the business transformed into KDW through a strategic partnership that combined generational expertise with modern business practices.
Today, KDW operates from offices in Houston, Austin, and Nacogdoches, offering an integrated design-build model with in-house architects, designers, and building professionals. The firm has completed more than 2,500 projects valued at over $1 billion, working with diverse clients including energy companies, food manufacturers, and entertainment venues.
KDW's longevity reflects its commitment to client relationships, prioritizing collaboration, trust, and transparency. The company has successfully delivered complex projects for global and national businesses, including state-of-the-art facilities for Goya Foods, Sika, and MAN Energy Solutions, as well as innovative spaces like Typhoon Texas Waterparks.
Co-founder and CEO Keith Dalton emphasized the significance of their 130-year journey, noting that the company's success stems from consistently going beyond client expectations and maintaining a steadfast commitment to excellence and integrity.
