Flower Bar Design Studio, a Santa Cruz-based floral design studio, has been selected to present a unique botanical interpretation alongside Claude Monet's iconic 'Water Lilies' at the Legion of Honor museum in San Francisco.
The studio's founder, Sharon Schneider, will create a custom floral arrangement as part of the deYoung museum's annual Bouquets to Art exhibition, which celebrates the relationship between botanical design and visual art. This year's event marks the museum's centennial anniversary.
Schneider, who brings nearly 30 years of experience in floral design, views the opportunity as a profound artistic dialogue. Her arrangement will draw inspiration from Monet's masterpiece, translating the painter's appreciation for natural elements into a three-dimensional floral composition.
The exhibition represents a significant milestone for Flower Bar Design Studio, which recently transitioned from a retail shop to a specialized custom design studio. By participating in this prestigious event, the studio demonstrates its commitment to elevating floral design as an art form that can engage with and complement fine art.
The floral installation will be on display from June 3rd to June 8th, offering art and flower enthusiasts a unique perspective on creative interpretation across different mediums.
