Comcast has reached a milestone in its Rio Rancho expansion project, now providing its advanced fiber network to over 20,000 homes and businesses. This development introduces Xfinity Internet with speeds exceeding 1 Gig, Xfinity Mobile, and Comcast Business Internet and Mobile services, significantly enhancing digital connectivity in the area.
Rio Rancho Mayor Greggory Hull highlighted the project's alignment with the community's growth, emphasizing the expansion of network provider options for residents. Despite the challenges associated with such large-scale infrastructure projects, the completion of more than half of the expansion underscores Comcast's commitment to the region.
The full suite of Xfinity products, including Internet, video, mobile, voice, and managed home solutions, will be available upon project completion, expected by 2026. Local businesses will benefit from Comcast Business services, offering a range of solutions tailored to support organizational growth and digital transformation.
Jerry Schalow, President of the Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce, pointed out the critical role of high-speed connectivity in economic development, attracting new industries, and supporting educational success. Comcast's initiatives like Internet Essentials and Lift Zones further demonstrate its dedication to reducing the digital divide and fostering community development.
With construction ongoing, Comcast continues to engage with the community, ensuring residents and businesses are informed about service availability. This expansion not only represents a substantial investment in Rio Rancho's digital infrastructure but also promises to deliver reliable, fast, and secure internet services essential for today's digital economy.
