A new research project in Ohio is set to explore the impact of technology-enabled case aide support in the behavioral health sector. This initiative, a collaboration between Northwoods, Concord Counseling Services, and The Ohio State University, is funded by a SOAR Network Innovation Grant from the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. The project seeks to replicate the success of Case Aide Services, previously observed in child welfare, within behavioral health settings. By leveraging AI-driven operational efficiencies and AWS technologies, the study aims to streamline workflows, thereby reducing staff burnout and enhancing service delivery.
The significance of this project lies in its potential to address critical challenges faced by behavioral health agencies, including high turnover rates and staff dissatisfaction. With the evaluation led by Tom Gregoire of The Ohio State University College of Social Work, the project will measure outcomes such as staff satisfaction, turnover rates, and financial impact. The findings could pave the way for broader adoption of technology solutions in behavioral health, aligning with OhioMHAS's vision for tech-enabled, people-centered services. This initiative represents a forward-thinking approach to improving mental health and addiction recovery services through innovation and collaboration.
