The 1993 NHRA Top Fuel Dragster, a symbol of speed and innovation driven by the legendary Kenny Bernstein, has been added to the Ron Sturgeon Collection at the DFW Car & Toy Museum. This vehicle, known for its Budweiser King livery, represents a significant era in motorsports, where Bernstein broke barriers by becoming the first driver to exceed 300 mph in a standing-start quarter-mile in 1992.
Bernstein's achievements extended beyond this milestone, with records of 314.46 mph in 1994 and 332.18 mph in 1996, showcasing the relentless pursuit of speed that defined his career. The dragster on display, believed to have been completed in December 1993 and NHRA-certified for the 1994 season, is a testament to Bernstein's legacy as a six-time NHRA champion and the only racer to win titles in Top Fuel, Funny Car, and as an owner in NASCAR and IndyCar.
Ron Sturgeon, founder of the DFW Car & Toy Museum, expressed his honor in housing such a significant piece of motorsport history, stating, "This car is more than a race machine—it's a rocket with wheels and a legacy." The inclusion of Bernstein's dragster in the museum's collection offers visitors a glimpse into the golden years of drag racing and the fearless innovation that propelled the sport forward.
