This initiative is designed to foster innovation in medical and digital health technologies that can enhance patient outcomes, reduce healthcare costs, and eliminate barriers to care, particularly in the realm of women's heart and brain health.

Lisa Suennen, managing partner of American Heart Association Ventures, emphasized the importance of innovation in combating heart disease and stroke. The accelerator program provides selected companies with mentorship, funding, and access to a network of experts, aiming to expedite the development of their technologies from concept to real-world application.

The startups, including Kelvin Health and LightHearted AI Health, are developing solutions ranging from non-invasive diagnostics for vascular diseases to contactless heart condition detection devices. Other participants like MOMM Diagnostics and Powerful Medical are focusing on early detection of preeclampsia in pregnancy and AI-assisted interpretation of electrocardiograms, respectively. Reach Neuro and Sinaptica Therapeutics are working on technologies to aid stroke survivors and slow Alzheimer's disease progression, while SynchNeuro and Veravas are innovating in blood sugar monitoring and disease detection through biomarker purification.

The selection process was overseen by a committee of expert volunteers from the American Heart Association, including notable figures in cardiology and medical technology.
