Elecholic Tech has announced the retail availability of its EXCAP full-body tracking system, a breakthrough in motion capture technology designed for VR creators. Originally launched on Kickstarter in January 2025, the EXCAP system quickly surpassed its funding goal, raising over US $30,000 from more than 100 backers, with all units shipped by early June.
The EXCAP system introduces several innovative features, including Proprietary Optical-Inertial Fusion technology, which auto-corrects IMU drift in real time by combining vision data and magnetometer readings. This ensures high-level accuracy without the need for base stations. Additionally, the system boasts an ultra-light design, with each of the eight wireless trackers weighing only 25 g, and offers up to 50 hours of battery life on a single USB-C charge.
Further enhancing the user experience, the EXCAP system includes customizable RGB lighting and a built-in haptic module for tactile feedback, deepening immersion in virtual environments. The system supports one-step auto-calibration and is compatible with SteamVR and OpenXR, making it seamless to use in popular games like VRChat.
Priced at US $359, the complete EXCAP set is now available for purchase with free worldwide shipping directly from shop.elecholic.tech. This launch marks a significant milestone in making professional-grade motion capture technology accessible to a wider audience of VR enthusiasts and creators.
