Dusty Films LLC has announced the appointment of Jihyun Lee as the Lead Editor for the upcoming feature film 'Connection'. The film, which delves into the intersections of music, culture, and digital identity, is set to begin pre-production in Los Angeles on July 25th, 2025. 'Connection' tells the story of a Filipino musician who finds his song copied by a rival content creator, leading to a multilingual musical duel across social media platforms.
Jihyun Lee's role will span the entire filmmaking process, from pre-production through to post-production. Her responsibilities include collaborating with the director and producers on story structure, serving as On-Set Editor and DIT during production, and leading the picture editorial process in post-production. Lee's expertise in narrative structure, musical editing, and multilingual storytelling is expected to bring a unique vision to the film.
Achim Mendoza, CFO of Dusty Films, praised Lee's appointment, stating her skills align perfectly with the film's goals of technical innovation and emotional resonance. Dusty Films, founded by siblings Achim Mendoza and Jemima Marie Holt, focuses on supporting underrepresented filmmakers, particularly through the challenging post-production phase.
'Connection' is scheduled to film in Los Angeles from August 2026, with post-production concluding by December 2027. The film will feature a mix of English, Tagalog, and other languages, reflecting its multicultural narrative. This project underscores Dusty Films' dedication to creating sustainable pathways for independent filmmakers to share their stories with the world.
