The Comfort Area Foundation (CAF) has launched the Comfort Flood Relief Fund in response to the devastating floods that hit the Texas Hill Country on July 4th, 2025. The floods have caused significant damage, particularly in Center Point, TX, where the community's fire station was destroyed, and across Kendall and Kerr Counties, leaving many families displaced and homes in ruins. CAF, a nonprofit with a 25-year history of serving the region, is now calling for donations to support the affected communities.
All contributions to the Comfort Flood Relief Fund will be directed to local nonprofits working directly with flood victims, first responders, and recovery initiatives. The foundation guarantees that 100% of the donations will remain within the region to assist in the immediate and long-term recovery efforts. Chris Havens, Board President of CAF, highlighted the importance of community in the recovery process, stating, "In small towns like ours, recovery isn't handled by agencies—it’s neighbors helping neighbors."
The recent floods underscore the urgency of CAF's mission, especially following the implementation of an early warning siren system in Comfort as part of the Vision 2050 planning initiative. This initiative aims to enhance the community's resilience against environmental challenges and growth. The foundation's efforts are now more critical than ever as they work to rebuild and strengthen the Hill Country.
To contribute to the recovery efforts, donations can be made through the Comfort Flood Relief Fund's website at https://comfortfloodrelief.com. The foundation also extends its gratitude to the volunteers, neighbors, and corporate partners like Charity Ace, Newsworthy.ai, BoosterHub, and USIO for their support in organizing volunteers and ensuring that funds and services reach those in greatest need.
