Chimera BMX Partners with Handlworks for Enhanced Electric BMX Controller Production

Chimera BMX and Handlworks have announced a partnership that combines OEM-level supply with a dominant vehicle platform, focusing on the production of next-generation electric BMX controllers. Handlworks, an ebike speedshop known for performance-enhancing components like customized controllers, batteries, and motors, will utilize its production line to build potted BAC855 controllers to Chimera's design specifications. This collaboration aims to elevate the durability and long-term performance of the Chimera Electric BMX, which weighs as little as 38lbs and reaches speeds up to 40mph with 3HP at the wheel, partly due to its proprietary High-Drive motorization system.

Austin Duggan, Founder of Chimera BMX, emphasized the strategic importance of this partnership, stating that while the company has been tuning and wiring its own BAC855 controllers since its launch in 2022, the process is labor-intensive. Handlworks offers a more sophisticated approach to testing and tuning, with excellent quality control throughout the process. This ensures a better plug-and-play solution as Chimera scales its operations, addressing the growing demands of the ebike community for innovation and reliability.
