NFL Star Jarvis Landry Partners with Big Brothers Big Sisters for Annual 'Lace Up for Learning' Event

The annual 'Lace Up for Learning' event, hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County, saw over 500 children receiving brand-new sneakers, thanks to the generous support of NFL star Jarvis Landry and his foundation, The Impact Group Project. The event, held at Snyder Park in Fort Lauderdale, not only provided children with new footwear but also offered a day filled with fun activities, including field games, music, and a barbeque sponsored by Comcast. Additionally, more than 300 students received fully stocked school supply kits, courtesy of the BBX Capital Foundation.

Jarvis Landry, a five-time Pro Bowler and former Miami Dolphin, made a special appearance at the event, engaging with the children and their families, and helping distribute the sneakers. Landry emphasized the importance of starting the school year with a new pair of shoes, stating it significantly boosts a child's self-esteem. The event, presented by Ana G. Mendez University and sponsored by several organizations including Good Greek Moving and Storage and Miller Construction, underscores the community's commitment to supporting youth education and well-being.
