Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii Opens New Boulder Location with Community Focus

Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii opened its newest location on September 18 at 2850 Baseline Rd. in Boulder, offering handcrafted coffees, branded merchandise, and a food menu with Hawaiian influences. The café, owned by local entrepreneur Beth Deasy alongside Chief Operating Officer Andi Nakata and Chief Experience Officer Stephanie Hooper, features two patios, an upstairs outdoor fireplace, and employs 24 local baristas, many of whom are University of Colorado students.

The Grand Opening Celebration on September 20 included free giveaways, live Hawaiian entertainment such as music and hula, and highlights the brand's commitment to community. Deasy emphasized creating a welcoming space for study sessions and gatherings, embodying the 'warm aloha spirit.' The location's proximity to campus positions it as an ideal spot for students and residents, fostering a people-first culture that aligns with Boulder's community values.

Scott Snyder, CEO of Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii, noted the synergy between Boulder's community ethos and the brand's Hawaiian roots in 'Ohana (family). The café serves premium Hawaiian coffees sourced from regions like Kona, Kauai, and Maui, alongside blended drinks, teas, and island-inspired foods. Guests can join the 'Ohana Rewards loyalty program, receiving benefits after their first purchase.

Founded in 1989 on Hawaii's Big Island, Bad Ass Coffee pays homage to the hard-working donkeys that historically carried coffee beans, symbolizing strength and reliability. The Boulder location operates daily from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with plans for mobile and delivery services. Expansion continues with a new shop planned for Lakewood's Belmar shopping center this winter, part of aggressive growth targets to open numerous locations nationwide over the next five years. Territories are available for further franchise development, underscoring the brand's rapid expansion and commitment to sharing Hawaiian coffee culture.
