Eco Expo Asia 2025 to Showcase Global Green Technologies Driving Carbon Neutrality
TL;DR
Eco Expo Asia 2025 offers businesses access to over 300 global green technology exhibitors, providing competitive advantages in ESG services and carbon reduction solutions.
The expo organizes exhibits into three key areas - Circular Economy, Green Mobility, and ESG Services - with virtual matching from October 21 to November 7.
This event promotes global collaboration on climate solutions and public green living education, working toward carbon neutrality for a more sustainable future.
Visitors can see the world's first commercial sulfur-based flow battery and carbon-negative building materials while attending free green workshops on Public Day.
The 20th edition of Eco Expo Asia, themed Green Innovations for Carbon Neutrality, will gather over 300 exhibitors from 12 countries and regions at AsiaWorld-Expo from October 28 to 31, 2025. Jointly organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, with co-organization by the Environment and Ecology Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the expo serves as a critical platform for advancing global environmental solutions.
HKTDC Deputy Executive Director Jenny Koo emphasized the significance of China's commitment to reduce economy-wide net greenhouse gas emissions by 7-10% from peak levels by 2035, as stated by President Xi Jinping at the United Nations Climate Summit. This commitment, coupled with Hong Kong's green policy directions highlighted in the Chief Executive's 2025 Policy Address, creates substantial demand for environmental products and technologies. The expo's timing aligns with growing global momentum toward carbon neutrality goals.
The expo will spotlight three key areas: Circular Economy and Waste Management, Green & Smart Mobility, and ESG-related Services. In Circular Economy and Waste Management, Hong Kong exhibitor Green AI Technology Limited will display a smart sorting bin powered by machine vision and AI algorithms, while China Everbright Environment Group Limited returns with waste-to-energy solutions that transform waste into resources. The Green & Smart Mobility zone features CUHK-incubated start-up Luquos Energy Limited showcasing the world's first commercialized sulfur-based flow battery energy storage system at nearly half the cost of lithium batteries.
International participation reaches new heights with Korea and Italy staging group participations for the first time. The Korea pavilion features solutions in air purification, deodorization, water quality management and waste treatment, while Norway, the Netherlands and Canada return following previous successes. From the Chinese Mainland, participations include Guangzhou, Shenzhen and other Greater Bay Area cities, joined by Guangxi, Hunan, Shanghai and Inner Mongolia. The ANSO Environmental Technology Industry Alliance, led by the Alliance of National and International Science Organizations for the Belt and Road Regions (ANSO), makes its debut with 11 mainland enterprises showcasing technologies related to water resources and the atmospheric environment.
The highlight Eco Asia Conference will bring together government representatives from the Chinese Mainland and Belt and Road countries alongside global industry leaders to share latest policies, projects and insights. Conference sessions will focus on critical topics including the launch of the Hong Kong Circular Built Environment Guidebook and discussions on building a net-zero built environment and future transportation systems. The 6th Hydrogen Economy Forum on October 29 will feature representatives from Towngas and experts from the Chinese Mainland and overseas sharing insights into frontier hydrogen energy technologies.
Dr. Vanessa Au, Deputy Director of the Environmental Protection Department of the HKSAR Government, expressed that the expo continues its role as a platform for sharing and implementing latest green technologies. The event aims to foster exchange and cooperation among government, industry and the community to collectively address climate change and drive progress toward carbon neutrality. The expo actively supports Hong Kong and mainland enterprises to explore new opportunities in green trade through the HKTDC's network of 51 offices worldwide.
To encourage public participation in environmental initiatives, the last day of the expo on October 31 will be Public Day with complimentary admission. Visitors can participate in seminars and green workshops, including presentations from Ocean Park about saving species and habitats, and environmental KOL Yeung Ting sharing tips for green living. Additional activities include green workshops and a Green Mart where the public can shop for sustainable products. More information about the event can be found at https://www.ecoexpoasia.com.
