The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) collaborated to present two technology pavilions at GITEX Global 2025 in Dubai, featuring 22 exhibitors showcasing advancements in artificial intelligence, robotics, Internet of Things, and green technology. This strategic initiative provided Hong Kong's innovation and technology enterprises with direct access to Middle Eastern markets, resulting in substantial business opportunities and partnership formations that underscore Hong Kong's growing influence in global technology ecosystems.

Robocore Technology Limited emerged as one of the standout success stories from the exhibition, engaging in advanced discussions with a multinational outdoor advertising company considering global deployment of Robocore's advertising robots. The company's CEO, Roy Lam, revealed that GITEX represented their fourth international exhibition collaboration with HKTDC this year, following participation in CES in Las Vegas, Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and Viva Technology in Paris. During the five-day event, Robocore established connections with more than 250 Middle Eastern companies, with numerous buyers expressing interest in purchasing robots or becoming local distributors. Most significantly, the company confirmed plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Omani authorities to establish an AI and Robotics Center in Oman, focusing on localized talent training, certification programs, and cross-departmental pilot projects.

To facilitate deeper market integration, HKTDC organized a networking dinner on October 14 in collaboration with the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Dubai, attracting approximately 100 industry representatives from Hong Kong and international markets. The company also established contact with relevant local authorities and will further explore collaboration opportunities through support from the Economic and Trade Office in Dubai. Additional interest emerged from local educational institutions considering partnerships to establish AI schools, potentially creating comprehensive ecosystems for smart education development in the region.

Concurrent with GITEX Global, HKSTP maintained a presence at Expand North Star from October 12-15 at Dubai Harbour, showcasing innovative solutions from 10 park companies. The Hong Kong Polytechnic University also participated in the exhibition, demonstrating the comprehensive nature of Hong Kong's technology representation. The successful outcomes at GITEX Global 2025 reinforce Hong Kong's strategic position as a global innovation and technology hub while validating the Middle East as a promising market for Hong Kong's technological exports.
