Mary Ann Munn, who moved to Greenspring in June after extensive research, appreciated the numerous opportunities to experience campus life before committing. "I made sure to attend all the events that were offered to me, including seminars and open houses," Munn recalls. "I asked a lot of questions. The sales team answered all my calls and emails. And, at no time did I ever feel pressured to make a decision." Her experience reflects the community's approach to senior living transitions.

"What impressed me early on is that Greenspring has a college campus feel, unlike some of the high-rise communities I visited," Munn notes. "I also learned that Greenspring has several doctors working on-site. I think that's a really big deal."

After determining that Greenspring met her criteria—including safety, security, pool access for water aerobics, and homes with patios or balconies—Munn joined the Priority List. This program provides members with residence queue positioning and exclusive benefits including invitations to informational events and access to planning and moving support. "Each time I visited, I felt comfortable going around campus and talking with residents," she explains. "Often, they would stop me and say hello. I could tell that people are happy at Greenspring." Now as a resident, Munn participates in water aerobics classes and enjoys dinners with neighbors on her floor, activities she anticipated during her research phase. Her advice to others considering retirement communities emphasizes firsthand experience: "My biggest piece of advice is to come for a visit. It's the best first step while conducting your research. Also, talk to as many people as you can, both residents and staff. Everyone is so friendly." She adds, "It's so important to move when you are able to enjoy all there is to do here. Life is very good!"
