In the service and guide/hearing category, Donald from Fort Myers, Florida, has transformed the life of his veteran handler who lost her central vision after 25 years of military service. Donald enables his handler to travel confidently across the country, host events, and even participate in skiing activities. Beyond his guide duties, he brings constant joy through dancing to music, playing hide-and-seek, and providing steady guidance through daily life, demonstrating that he serves as both partner and friend.

Lieutenant Dan, the emerging hero and shelter category finalist from New Richmond, Ohio, exemplifies resilience despite being born with severe limb deformities that resulted in the loss of both hind legs and his tail. His zest for life shines through hiking, swimming, and screen appearances, inspiring people of all abilities to embrace their differences. At home, he plays with foster pets, many with special needs, helping them gain confidence and live life fully.

Harrison represents law enforcement and first responder dogs as Caldwell County's first electronics scent detection K-9 and one of only a few certified dogs of his kind in North Carolina. Specially trained to locate hidden electronic devices, Harrison plays a critical role in uncovering digital evidence essential to criminal investigations, with particular focus on Internet Crimes Against Children cases. Beyond investigative work, he serves as a source of comfort at community events and strengthens relationships between law enforcement and the public.

K9 Ultra from Matawan, New Jersey, stands as the military category finalist, described as a true professional who remains fiercely reliable in the field while maintaining a playful and loving nature at home. As a skilled detection dog, she immediately locks into mission mode upon hearing the command seek. Sgt. Bo, the therapy category finalist, recently retired from the Metro Nashville Police Department where he served as a dedicated therapy dog offering comfort to countless children and adults in schools. His work included trauma support, de-escalating children in crisis, and providing comfort to everyone he encountered.
