TL;DR

ALMAC 2025 offers businesses strategic advantages by exploring emerging markets in the Middle East and Central Asia to diversify supply chains and gain competitive edge.

The conference systematically addresses three key trends: supply chain diversification, sustainability through green energy adoption, and technological innovation in logistics operations.

ALMAC promotes sustainable logistics development and green energy adoption to create a more environmentally responsible global supply chain for future generations.

The conference showcases cutting-edge cargo drone technology and features over 90 exhibitors including first-time participants from emerging markets and innovative logistics startups.

The 15th Asian Logistics, Maritime and Aviation Conference (ALMAC) will convene on November 17-18 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, bringing together over 80 speakers and 2,300 participants from more than 40 countries. Co-organized by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the conference aligns with national development priorities outlined in the 15th Five-Year Plan and local policies from the 2025 Policy Address aimed at strengthening Hong Kong's position as an international shipping and aviation hub.

Under the theme "Collaboration and Growth in the New Trade Landscape," this year's conference will focus on three critical industry trends: supply chain diversification and opportunities in emerging markets, sustainability and green energy, and innovation and technology. These discussions come at a crucial time when companies worldwide face significant challenges from geopolitical tensions, changing global tariffs, extreme weather events, and ongoing supply chain disruptions while simultaneously addressing urgent demands for sustainability and digital transformation.

Patrick Lau, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC, emphasized Hong Kong's strategic role, noting that "Hong Kong's status as an international shipping centre is supported by recommendations in the 15th Five-Year Plan. The HKTDC is committed to promoting the advantages of the city's 'Eight Centres', advancing the development of high-value supply chain services and encouraging businesses to leverage our platforms and events to actively explore global opportunities." The conference will feature senior industry representatives from the Middle East and Central Asia attending in person, reinforcing Hong Kong's position as a premier global business hub.

New thematic sessions will spotlight the rapidly emerging markets of the Middle East and Central Asia. The "Tapping the Middle East: Logistics, Innovation & Trade Potentials" session will feature executives from Etihad Airways, GEODIS, Iron Mountain, DP World Logistics, and Qatar Free Zones Authority discussing how the region is reshaping global trade dynamics. Similarly, the "Unlocking Central Asia: The Next Trade and Logistics Frontier" session will examine strategies for navigating complex regulatory environments and infrastructure limitations while leveraging new trade routes across Eurasia.

Sustainability takes center stage with a special "Green Energy Forum: Fuels, Freight, and the Road to Net Zero" session aligning with Hong Kong's policy goal of becoming a green maritime fuel bunkering center. This session will explore pathways for developing green methanol, green ammonia, and hydrogen fuels, featuring experts from Asyad Group, Qair Group, DNV Energy Systems, and Kunlun Energy Company Limited.

Technological innovation will be prominently featured through sessions on low-altitude economy development, including "The Engine of Low-altitude Economy: How Cargo Drones are Revolutionising the Future of Air Logistics." The debut Low-Altitude Economy Zone will showcase companies participating in Hong Kong's regulatory sandbox pilot projects, displaying cutting-edge technologies such as drones, unmanned aerial vehicles, and urban air mobility systems.

The conference will host approximately 20 thematic forums and workshops covering air freight, shipping, supply chain management, and logistics. Representatives from leading international brands including Procter & Gamble, HP, and Reckitt will share strategies for integrating innovation across technology, talent, and processes to drive sustainable transformation.

Over 90 exhibitors will participate in dedicated zones for aviation, low-altitude economy, logistics technology, supply chain management, and maritime services. First-time exhibitors include SF Express, Greater Bay Airlines, YunExpress, ZIM, and PayCargo, alongside prominent companies like KLN, Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited, and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines. Many mainland Chinese exhibitors are also participating, including the Chengdu International Railway Port and Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone Authority.

The conference will also host the Hong Kong's NextGen Logistician Awards Presentation Ceremony, recognizing young talents who have demonstrated significant achievements in innovative, high-end, smart, and green logistics. Business matching sessions will continue this year, building on last year's success of over 330 sessions that underscored Hong Kong's role as both a "superconnector" and "super value-adder" in global trade networks.
