ARC Clean Technology Secures Series B Funding to Accelerate Commercial Deployment of Advanced Nuclear Reactor

ARC Clean Technology announced the successful closing of its Series B financing round, attracting investors from across the energy, infrastructure, and technology sectors. The investor group includes Xplor Ventures, Hennessy Capital Group, Cleantech Ventures, Core Synergy and Banpu Ventures, representing a mix of corporate venture capital, venture funds, strategic investors, and family offices.

The company will use the proceeds to advance commercialization programs for the ARC-100, its 100 MWe advanced sodium-cooled fast reactor. This funding will support ongoing work with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), collaboration with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) for global advanced small modular reactor fleet deployment, and continuation of Canadian project development supported by strategic partner Hatch.

James Wolf, newly appointed CEO of ARC Clean Technology, stated that the investment reflects strong confidence in the company's progress and the ARC-100's capability to deliver reliable, clean heat and power for energy-intensive industries and next-generation data centers. The financing enables acceleration of deployment with partners in the United States, Canada, and internationally.

ARC's simple advanced reactor design uses proven sodium-cooled fast reactor technology and has achieved recent commercialization milestones that are generating interest from multiple jurisdictions and project developers. These entities are looking to advanced small modular reactor technology for reliable, clean energy to support AI data centers, industrial applications, and on-grid power generation.

In the United States, ARC is a grant funding awardee of the U.S. Department of Energy Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program to develop and deploy the ARC-100. The program supports accelerated small modular reactor development through initiatives detailed at https://www.energy.gov/ne/advanced-reactor-demonstration-program.

In Canada, ARC has been working with New Brunswick Power on a commercial demonstration of the ARC-100 at the Point Lepreau site. In 2023, New Brunswick Power submitted a License to Prepare Site application to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) for the ARC-100 project. In 2025, ARC successfully completed Phase 2 of the CNSC's rigorous Vendor Design Review process, making it the only advanced reactor technology in Canada to have achieved both milestones.

Additionally, in 2025, ARC announced the formation of NuARC, a partnership entity with Calgary-based Nucleon Energy to develop and deploy the ARC-100 starting in Alberta, Canada, with evaluation of potential sites in progress. This partnership represents another step toward commercial deployment in the Canadian market.

The ARC-100's high-temperature, zero-emission design is particularly suited to power hyperscale data centers and heavy industry, according to Amar Jolly, Managing Director of Power at Hatch. The company has been working closely with ARC since 2022 and noted significant progress toward deploying the reactor technology.

This financing round and the associated commercialization efforts come at a critical time for clean energy development, particularly as demand grows for reliable, carbon-free power to support artificial intelligence infrastructure and industrial decarbonization. The advancement of advanced nuclear technologies like the ARC-100 could provide a stable baseload power source that complements intermittent renewable energy sources, potentially transforming how energy-intensive industries and data centers meet their power requirements while reducing carbon emissions.
