The 52nd HKTDC Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair, alongside the 17th HKTDC Hong Kong Baby Products Fair and the 24th Hong Kong International Stationery & School Supplies Fair, will convene at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from January 12 to 15, 2026. Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and jointly with Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd for the stationery fair, these events gather over 2,600 exhibitors from 37 countries and regions, including first-time participants from Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Norway. The fairs operate under the theme 'New Play for All,' aligning with the global surge in designer toys and collectibles.
A central innovation is the debut 'Pop & Play' pavilion, open to trade buyers and the public, featuring around 150 trendy intellectual properties (IPs). This pavilion aims to connect cutting-edge toy brands with global business buyers to expand into international markets and unleash commercial potential. Highlights include a strong lineup of international and local IPs such as B.Duck, Hot Toys, and threezero, alongside global and fair premieres of limited-edition collectibles. For instance, TUTU MOKEY will offer collectible figurines limited to 100 pieces globally, while CM Concepts Limited presents Mazinger Z Playing Cards limited to 1,500 sets worldwide. The pavilion also hosts diverse events, including seminars and autograph sessions with renowned artists and designers, and interactive experiences like photo spots with fair mascots Ah Pop and Ah Play, and an AI photo-taking experience.
Jenny Koo, HKTDC Deputy Executive Director, emphasized the council's commitment to fostering cross-sector collaboration by inviting buyer representatives from theme parks, museums, financial institutions, and other sectors. She noted the introduction of the 'Happy Ageing' label to help identify toys and games designed for seniors or intergenerational family fun, with over 40 exhibitors adopting it initially. This responds to global aging population trends, facilitating easier access to products that meet market needs.
The toy industry shows positive momentum, as indicated by the HKTDC's Q4 2025 Export Confidence Index, where the toy sector's current conditions index rose to 50.5, its highest since Q1 2025. Demand for sustainable products from regions like the Middle East and Europe is driving confidence in eco-friendly toys, showcased in the 'Green Toys' zone. Both the Toys & Games Fair and Stationery Fair use the Green Solutions label, with over 400 exhibitors displaying the green leaf logo—a 10% increase from 2025. The Baby Products Fair features expanded zones like the World of Strollers and Gear, hosting around 230 exhibitors with increased area and product range.
International participation remains robust, with pavilions from Chinese Mainland, Taiwan, Korea, and Europe's World of Toys, alongside buyer missions from over 40 countries and regions. E-commerce platforms such as Rakuten, Tmall Global, and Amazon are invited to help exhibitors expand sales channels. The Asia Toys & Games Forum, themed 'Empowering the Toy Industry for Global Success,' will feature insights from experts like Euromonitor International and The Walt Disney Company on market outlooks and IP strategies.
Under the EXHIBITION+ model, the fairs combine physical access with the Click2Match smart-matching platform for online business meetings, accessible from January 5 to 22, 2026. The Scan2Match function allows buyers to bookmark exhibitors via QR codes, enhancing post-fair engagement. These initiatives underscore the fairs' role in creating cross-industry opportunities and supporting global trade cooperation, with detailed information available on fair websites like hktoyfair.hktdc.com and hkstationeryfair.com.
