The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, through the Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center, will dispatch five Tokyo-based companies representing the infrastructure and cleantech sectors to POWERGEN 2026 in San Antonio, Texas. This initiative is based on the long-standing regional economic cooperation framework between Tokyo and the State of Texas, and aims to strengthen business collaboration while fostering technology exchange and innovation in critical infrastructure sectors such as power, water, and disaster resilience.
The five selected companies offer practical, deployable, and immediately applicable solutions addressing urgent challenges faced by U.S. utilities and EPC contractors. These challenges include disaster resilience, clean and PFAS-compliant water treatment, energy efficiency, AI-enabled infrastructure maintenance, and low-carbon structural materials. The technologies showcased at the Tokyo Metropolitan SME Support Booth directly address core needs, including power resilience and rapid recovery, fire safety and protection of critical infrastructure, water treatment and PFAS regulatory compliance, energy efficiency and operational cost reduction, and infrastructure modernization supporting DER expansion.
