Noble Mineral Exploration to Drill Untested Thomas Carbonatite in Ontario with Government Support

By Burstable Editorial Team

TL;DR

Noble Mineral Exploration's drilling contract for the Thomas Rare Earth property offers investors potential first-mover advantage in untapped rare earth element resources near Timmins, Ontario.

Noble identified a magnetic donut-shaped carbonatite signature, conducted magnetometer surveys, and will drill the magnetic low to test for rare earth element mineralization.

This exploration could help secure new domestic sources of rare earth elements, reducing geopolitical dependencies and supporting sustainable technology development for future generations.

Carbonatites are rare carbonate-rich rocks that form unique donut-shaped magnetic signatures and are the world's primary source of rare earth elements.

Noble Mineral Exploration to Drill Untested Thomas Carbonatite in Ontario with Government Support

Noble Mineral Exploration Inc. has signed a drill contract for its Thomas Rare Earth property near Timmins, Ontario, marking the first drilling program on a magnetic structure identified as a potential carbonatite. Carbonatites are carbonate-rich igneous rocks that serve as the world's primary source for rare earth elements (REE), niobium, zirconium, and phosphate oxide, materials critical for modern technologies including electronics, renewable energy systems, and defense applications.

The Thomas Carbonatite project centers on a magnetic feature in Thomas Township that exhibits the classic donut-shaped signature of such formations, with a magnetic high surrounding an extreme magnetic low. According to the company, this magnetic low is typically caused by the carbonate-rich section of the intrusion, which may host economic concentrations of rare earth elements and associated minerals. The structure does not outcrop on surface and, to Noble's knowledge, has never been drilled, making this upcoming program a significant exploratory step.

In preparation, Noble completed a magnetometer and VLF-EM survey in 2023 to pinpoint the magnetic low and assess overburden depth. The Phase 2 drilling will now target this magnetic low to confirm the presence of a carbonatite and test for mineralization. The initiative is bolstered by financial support from the Ontario government through the Ontario Junior Exploration Program (OJEP), which provides a 50% rebate on exploration programs up to $200,000 on a $400,000 program in the province.

Vance White, President and CEO of Noble, stated the company is pleased to commence drilling on this untested project given the geopolitical interest in securing new sources of rare earth elements. He also acknowledged the assistance from Ontario's OJEP. The technical information in the release was verified by Wayne Holmstead P.Geo., a qualified person under National Instrument 43-101.

The drilling program carries implications for the critical minerals sector, particularly as nations seek to diversify supply chains for rare earth elements away from dominant producers. A successful discovery in Ontario could contribute to North American supply security for these strategically important materials. For investors and industry observers, the project represents a high-potential, early-stage exploration target in a proven Canadian mining jurisdiction, with detailed information available through the company's website at https://www.noblemineralexploration.com.

Noble Mineral Exploration Inc. is a junior exploration company with extensive mineral holdings in Northern Ontario and Quebec. Its common shares trade on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol "NOB." The Thomas project adds to the company's portfolio of exploration targets, which includes the Project 81 holdings near Timmins and various other properties in Ontario and Quebec.
