SNAH Healthcare announced the debut of its partnership with the City of West Haven, Connecticut, to provide non-emergency medical transportation and senior center shuttle services following a competitive municipal bidding process. The program focuses on building a transportation model centered on trust, safety, and efficiency for government-funded community services.
The service will provide daily shuttles to the West Haven Senior Center and designated grocery shopping locations, utilizing the city's existing schedule. SNAH Healthcare distinguishes itself through a commitment to safety, integrity, transparency, and fraud prevention, which are critical for public sector partnerships.
Every vehicle in the fleet will be equipped with comprehensive security features from the program's start. The modern white shuttles feature front and back-facing cameras that create a complete visual record of each trip for passenger and driver safety. Additionally, real-time GPS tracking ensures transparency for the municipal partner, allowing the City of West Haven to monitor service delivery, compliance with routes, timeliness, and resource use.
A key feature of the service is door-to-door assistance for West Haven's senior population, many of whom face mobility challenges. SNAH's trained drivers provide hands-on assistance from passengers' homes to their shuttle seats and back, combining a person-centered approach with technological accountability.
Addressing a primary concern for government agencies, SNAH has designed its operational model specifically to reduce fraud and misuse of NEMT funding. By offering partners full visibility into every step of the trip continuum, SNAH aims to prevent fraudulent billing or "ghost rides," providing peace of mind and a tangible return on investment through reduced costs.
Paulina Wierzbicka, President of SNAH Healthcare, stated that the company's technology and processes are intended to enhance municipalities' control and verification processes, avoiding a "black box" environment. Partners will receive performance reports and the tools to independently monitor that performance.
The launch in West Haven reflects SNAH's experience in managing publicly funded transportation and home-care programs. As the company pursues other bid opportunities regionally and nationally, it positions itself as offering more than vehicles and drivers—a secure, transparent partnership that prioritizes community needs while protecting public funds.
