SteadIP has launched a dedicated IPv4 over WireGuard service designed to provide homelab users, developers, and small businesses with clean, stable public IPv4 addresses without requiring changes to their internet service provider connections. The service addresses common networking challenges including changing ISP addresses, carrier-grade network address translation restrictions, and limited inbound connectivity that often affect modern home and small office networks.
The service delivers dedicated public IPv4 addresses through encrypted WireGuard tunnels, enabling both reliable outbound connectivity for IP allowlists and inbound access to self-hosted services. According to Maxime Labelle, founder of SteadIP, the company's goal is to make dedicated public IPv4 accessible for legitimate, long-term use cases such as homelabs and small business workloads that require stable inbound access and predictable outbound IP allowlisting.
SteadIP offers two inbound connectivity options tailored to different customer requirements. Selected Port Forwarding allows users to expose only specific TCP/UDP ports such as SSH, HTTPS, or game servers. For users needing broader inbound reachability for labs, appliances, or small to medium business environments, higher-tier plans include Forward All Ports functionality using 1:1 network address translation.
Beyond basic IP allocation, the service includes optional hostname support under the steadip.com domain, allowing customers to assign memorable names to their dedicated IP addresses. Customers can also add extra dedicated IPv4 addresses as needed for separating environments, services, or allowlists, providing flexibility for growing technical requirements.
The service is available immediately with plans starting at $5 per month or $50 annually, including a dedicated IPv4 address and selected port forwarding capabilities. Professional plans offer higher traffic allowances, additional device support, and Forward All Ports functionality for more demanding use cases. The infrastructure is designed with fast uplinks and predictable bandwidth allowances to support always-on services.
This development matters because it addresses significant technical barriers that have limited individuals and small organizations from reliably hosting their own services. The combination of dedicated IP addresses with WireGuard security creates a solution that bridges the gap between consumer internet connections and professional hosting requirements. For homelab enthusiasts, this means more reliable access to self-hosted applications without the instability of dynamic IP addresses. For small businesses, it provides enterprise-grade networking capabilities at accessible price points.
The service's impact extends to various sectors including software development, where developers can maintain consistent testing environments; gaming communities, who can host stable servers; and small businesses requiring reliable access to self-hosted applications. By solving connectivity challenges that have traditionally required complex networking setups or expensive business-grade internet connections, SteadIP's service democratizes access to professional networking infrastructure. The service's focus on legitimate use cases with clean IP reputation management also addresses growing concerns about network security and reliability in an increasingly connected digital landscape.
