The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) are organizing a delegation of 21 technology companies and institutions to exhibit at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 and make their debut at 4 Years From Now (4YFN) 2026 in Barcelona from March 2-5. This dual presence aims to provide a comprehensive display of Hong Kong's innovation and technology capabilities to global telecom leaders, enterprise decision-makers, industry partners, and investors.
Building on momentum from MWC 2025, the Hong Kong Tech Pavilion will feature solutions beyond connectivity, covering devices and systems, digital transformation, and ecosystem partnerships. Iris Wong, Director of Merchandise Trade and Innovation at HKTDC, stated that the pavilion serves as an ideal platform for Hong Kong tech enterprises to present their latest research and development achievements at major international gatherings while supporting their overseas market exploration. Derek Chim, Head of Startup Ecosystem and Development at HKSTP, emphasized that MWC offers tech companies at any stage opportunities to connect with industry and investors, validate solutions, catalyze pilot projects, accelerate commercialization, and scale internationally.
The delegation will participate in a series of dialogues and exchanges including networking receptions, themed talks, and pitching sessions to facilitate partnerships and investment opportunities. Two notable examples demonstrate the range of innovations being presented. Shannon & Turing Technology Limited, exhibiting at MWC, specializes in mmWave technology for Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) applications, particularly for drone communications and control as Hong Kong advances its low-altitude economy initiatives. The company previously secured the world's first 26GHz mmWave 5G commercial communications project, demonstrating leadership in industrial-grade applications for scenarios like smart ports and dark factories.
At 4YFN, Cresento Limited will showcase an AI-powered shin guard that delivers real-time performance analytics and team leaderboards for football players. Designed to integrate seamlessly with existing athletic gear, the technology is moving from prototypes to pilot collaborations with European football clubs, academies, and sport tech platforms. These examples illustrate how Hong Kong companies are bridging cutting-edge research and development into real-world applications.
The collaboration between HKTDC and HKSTP through the Hong Kong Tech Pavilion aims to build bridges linking tech companies with global opportunities, expediting industry internationalization to meet growing global demand for innovation and technology. This initiative supports talent attraction, facilitates forward-looking investments, and explores global opportunities while consolidating Hong Kong's position as an international innovation and technology hub.
