Angkor Resources Corp. has completed a trenching and sampling program at the CZ Gold Prospect in Ratanakiri Province, Cambodia. The program, initiated as part of ongoing exploration activities, involved excavating twelve trenches across the prospect area to determine the geology, structure, and orientation of a quartz stockwork zone and its surrounding wall rocks.
Each trench measured approximately five meters in length, two meters in width, and five meters in depth. Due to the steep slope and required depth, the company utilized excavation equipment to complete the work safely and efficiently. The field team entered each trench after excavation to collect samples directly from the exposed geology, including visible veining and stockwork in the trench walls. Once sampling was finished at each location, the trenches were filled and the site was restored.
The company collected 298 samples of veins, side walls, and cross sections from the twelve trenches. Each sample will be split into three parts for different analytical methods: one part for panning in the adjacent creek, one part for portable X-ray fluorescence analysis, and one part for fire assay. This multi-method approach is designed to provide comprehensive geochemical characterization of the stockwork zone and evaluate gold content across the target area.
Sampling was completed recently, and the company has begun what is expected to be several weeks of analysis before data interpretation can be completed. The CZ Gold Prospect is located on the west side of the Canada Wall prospect within the company's Andong Meas license area. Technical disclosure in the announcement was reviewed and approved by Dennis Ouellette, the company's VP Exploration and a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.
The completion of this trenching program represents a significant step in Angkor Resources' exploration efforts in Cambodia. The company holds two mineral exploration licenses in the country with multiple copper and gold prospects, both currently in their first two-year renewal term. Through its mineral subsidiary Angkor Gold Corp., the company is working to advance mineral resource development in the region.
Beyond mineral exploration, Angkor Resources also operates in the energy sector through its subsidiary EnerCam Resources, which holds an onshore oil and gas license covering over 4,095 square kilometers in southwestern Cambodia. The company has completed seismic work in 2025 and identified drill targets as it works toward drilling Cambodia's first onshore oil and gas exploratory wells. The trenching program's results could have implications for mineral exploration in Cambodia, particularly in the under-explored Ratanakiri Province. Successful identification of gold mineralization could attract further investment to the region and contribute to Cambodia's developing resource sector. The multi-method analytical approach demonstrates modern exploration techniques being applied in Cambodia, potentially setting standards for future exploration programs in the country.
For investors and industry observers, the completion of this fieldwork represents tangible progress in Angkor Resources' exploration pipeline. The coming weeks of analysis will provide crucial data about the prospect's potential, with results that could influence the company's future exploration decisions and resource allocation. The program also demonstrates the company's operational capability in conducting systematic exploration work in Cambodia's challenging terrain.
