Angkor Resources Completes Initial Drilling at Andong Bor Copper-Gold Target in Cambodia

Angkor Resources Corp. (TSXV: ANK, OTCQB: ANKOF) has announced the completion of the initial phase of diamond drilling at its Andong Bor copper-gold target in Cambodia. The company planned a total of 2,800 meters of drilling, with the first 1,099 meters completed in mid-July on the Thmei North target, a one-square-kilometer copper anomaly. The program was staged around Cambodia's seasonal weather patterns, with the remaining 1,700 meters scheduled for early 2027 once fields are dry and crops harvested.

Dennis Ouellette, VP Exploration, reported that two of the three holes drilled encountered good porphyry and skarn mineralization over the 400 meters each was drilled, with portions of skarn especially well mineralized. The third hole contained a run of over 200 meters with continuous pyrite mineralization up to 20%. These results indicate the presence of a significant mineralized system.

The drilling orientation was designed to intersect mineralized beds more effectively. Holes were drilled to the east, based on 2025 drilling data showing that the main structures controlling mineralization strike north-northwest and dip steeply west. This approach aims to maximize intersections of mineralized sedimentary rocks as the drill passes through alternating intrusive and sedimentary layers.

Core from the completed holes is being logged, photographed, and sampled, with selected intervals dispatched for assay. The second phase of drilling at Thmei North and activity at Thmei South will continue in 2027.

The Andong Bor license covers 100.28 square kilometers and straddles Oddar Meanchey and Banteay Meanchey provinces. The company's modified copper porphyry model suggests the best mineralization occurs within potassic-altered sediments adjacent to feldspar porphyry diorite dikes, which vary in width from a few meters to tens of meters.

This drilling program is part of Angkor's broader exploration efforts in Cambodia. The company holds two mineral exploration licenses with multiple copper and gold prospects, and its energy subsidiary is advancing onshore oil and gas exploration under Block VIII. The completion of this initial phase marks a step forward in understanding the resource potential of the Andong Bor target.

The results from this drilling will provide crucial data for assessing the economic viability of the copper-gold mineralization. Positive assay results could enhance the project's value and attract further investment. The company's systematic approach, aligned with seasonal constraints, demonstrates a commitment to responsible exploration that minimizes environmental impact and respects local agricultural activities.
