Aolani, a Singapore-founded neocloud provider powering AI growth, has announced a partnership with Karman (formerly Utilidata) to maximize the utilization of available power across its AI infrastructure through advanced power orchestration. The collaboration aims to address the intensifying global demand for AI compute by employing intelligent energy management to enhance performance and scalability. As part of the agreement, Aolani will integrate the Karman platform into its infrastructure stack, a system that combines high-resolution metrology with local processing and artificial intelligence to dynamically allocate power capacity across high-density GPU workloads.
The Karman platform, built on a custom NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano, is designed to measure and manage rack-level energy consumption in real time. By doing so, it increases infrastructure utilization within a facility's existing power envelope and lowers the cost per unit of compute. Aolani's joint proof of concept with Karman will be deployed on the NVIDIA Blackwell Platform. Notably, the Karman platform has already demonstrated its potential by unlocking 33% more compute capacity from existing power infrastructure at its first commercial deployment in North America, which could translate into a $20 million increase in revenue per megawatt.
Nicholas Chia, Chief Executive Officer at Aolani, commented on the partnership: "We are excited to be partnering with Karman to leverage their innovative technology and deliver greater value from existing energy resources. For Aolani, this represents an opportunity to further improve the economics of AI workloads and reflects our commitment to continuously enhancing our AI infrastructure platform. By optimizing how power is allocated and used, we can help customers scale their AI ambitions and strengthen our ability to deliver the compute capacity quickly without waiting on the grid."
Karman CEO Josh Brumberger added, "Access to power is one of the defining factors in supporting AI adoption and the growth of increasingly demanding AI workloads. As we continue to advance alongside the latest generation of GPU systems, we look forward to working with Aolani to demonstrate how our Karman platform can fully utilize the power already available to data center operators and cloud providers."
The implications of this partnership extend beyond operational efficiency. As AI workloads grow more complex and power constraints become a bottleneck, technologies that extract more compute from existing infrastructure could significantly alter the economics of AI deployment. For data center operators and cloud providers, the ability to increase tokens per watt by up to 50% without additional power provisioning may reduce costs and accelerate scalability. Aolani, headquartered in Singapore and founded in 2023, is backed by purpose-built infrastructure to deliver performance for next-generation AI. The company's AI factories aim to enable organizations to build and scale rapidly in Asia's fast-growing AI market. Karman, an AI company providing dynamic power orchestration, embeds real-time visibility and millisecond control directly into power distribution equipment. Its platform, previously embedded into smart meters to bring real-time visibility and power-flow control to the electric grid, is now adapted for AI data centers.
