Charbone Corporation (TSXV: CH; OTCQB: CHHYF; FSE: K47), a vertically integrated industrial gases company, announced the arrival of its electrolyzer at its flagship site in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec. This delivery represents a significant milestone in the company's Phase 1B development plan, underscoring tangible progress toward increasing its clean ultra-high-purity (UHP) hydrogen production capacity to meet growing industrial demand.
The electrolyzer, which produces hydrogen through water electrolysis, is the technological core for the next phase of production at the Sorel-Tracy site. With its delivery, Charbone's teams, construction contractors, and technical partners can now proceed with positioning, installation, and integration into the site's infrastructure. Civil engineering work and foundation preparation have already been planned to accommodate the main production equipment. Subsequent activities will follow the company's execution schedule, including component assembly, mechanical and electrical connections, testing, and commissioning.
This milestone is part of Charbone's modular and phased strategy, which allows the company to add production capacity in line with demand while maintaining a disciplined development approach. The successful delivery mitigates risks associated with equipment transport and timeline uncertainties, reinforcing confidence in the project's fall launch timeline.
Dave Gagnon, President and CEO of Charbone, expressed pride in the achievement, stating, "It is with immense pride that we announce the arrival of our electrolyzer in Sorel-Tracy today. This is far more than the delivery of a piece of equipment, it represents the achievement of a pivotal step in realizing our vision and one of the most important milestones in the Company's history. The risks associated with delivery are now behind us." He also highlighted the commitment of employees, partners, suppliers, and stakeholders, adding, "We are now entering a new phase of execution that will strengthen our ability to serve our key customers and create sustainable value for our shareholders. Our previously communicated timeline of a fall launch remains on track, and we look forward to providing further updates as we advance through the next stages of commissioning and ramp-up."
The Sorel-Tracy site is central to Charbone's strategy to serve customers in sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence and data centers, advanced pharmaceuticals, and aerospace and defense technologies, where UHP gases are critical for high-precision manufacturing processes. By expanding its clean UHP hydrogen production capacity, Charbone aims to address supply gaps for mid-tier industrial gas customers and support the global transition to a lower-carbon economy.
Charbone's modular, decentralized, and demand-driven approach, combined with its integrated storage and distribution platform, enables scalable growth and operational flexibility. This model supports more stable and diversified revenue generation. The company is developing a network of clean UHP hydrogen production facilities across North America and selected international markets.
With the electrolyzer delivered, Charbone moves closer to commissioning and ramp-up, which will enhance its ability to supply reliable, high-purity hydrogen to its customers. The company continues to advance its development plan, with further updates expected as milestones are achieved.
