CINCH Studios, a boutique Pilates and reformer fitness studio founded by Durham Region natives, has officially opened its doors at Units D & E, 1870 Altona Rd, Pickering, ON. The new studio introduces a modern, inclusive approach to movement by combining comprehensive Pilates training with Durham Region's first high-intensity reformer fitness method under one roof.
The 3,000-square-foot facility features three dedicated classrooms: a Reformer Pilates studio, the signature Cinchformer high-intensity reformer room, and a Mat studio. Additionally, the space includes an in-studio Matcha Café, creating a welcoming environment for members to connect before and after classes.
CINCH Studios was created to redefine the boutique fitness experience by bringing together multiple movement disciplines in one accessible space. Members can build strength, improve mobility, and challenge themselves through a variety of offerings, including Reformer Pilates, Mat, Tower, Chair, Barre, Yoga, and the studio's signature Cinchformer method. The studio emphasizes a personalized approach, with classes intentionally kept small—reformer rooms are capped at six machines—to provide individualized coaching and thoughtful modifications.
"Movement isn't one-size-fits-all. That's why CINCH brings together Pilates, strength training, and recovery under one roof, giving people the flexibility to choose what their body needs that day," said the CINCH Studios team.
The Cinchformer method is described as a low-impact, high-intensity workout that combines slow, controlled movements with dynamic transitions to build strength, endurance, and stamina. This innovative approach is designed to cater to a wide range of fitness levels, making it accessible to beginners and experienced athletes alike.
The opening of CINCH Studios is significant for the Durham Region, as it provides residents with a premium boutique wellness experience without the need to travel into Toronto. By offering a comprehensive range of classes and a supportive environment, CINCH aims to become a hub for health and community in Pickering.
